Boise Twilight Criterium

Boise Cycling

If I understand this correctly, the Twilight Criterium is a traveling cycling race, with one of the races held in downtown Boise! They closed off the streets downtown and had the cyclist race around 3 blocks. The first part of the day was kid's races with gold medalist Kristin Armstrong. My cousin competed and he did awesome! Some of the kids were kind of hilarious. There were some that went all out and were very focused as they regulated their breathing, then there were other kids smiling and hamming it up for the crowd, and then my favorites were the ones in the way back just slowly cruising along, taking their time.

We then went back in the evening and met up with these 3 lovelies. Dayna and I went to high school together and I've loved living in the same city as her! And isn't her baby just the prettiest baby you've ever seen?!

We got to watch the men's pro race and they were all so speedy! I don't know how long they raced for, but I'm pretty sure it was over an hour. Since the race only covered 3 blocks, you got to see them zip by every minute. It was very impressive and very cool. I can't even imagine going that fast with other bikers all around me! Scary!
