"Throw ya 2's in the air for Tupac"

Saturday morning we were lucky enough to discover that July 23rd was Boise, Idaho's 2nd Annual Music Festival! And what was the best part - it was FREE! That afternoon we headed downtown with our shades, blanket, books and agua. When we got to the main stage there there was nowhere for us to sit AND see the stage. Why?? For some reason they allowed people to bring and set up large umbrellas and tents. To me that was a very bad idea. Only the people up front could see! But we'll forgive them since it's only their second time doing it..and it being free and all.

So we popped a squat on the side in the shade(it was REALLY hot in the sun). We couldn't see the stage too well, but we could hear the music so we were happy.

In the evening the main acts hit the stage, the tents and umbrellas got pushed away by the crowd (finally), and we headed up close to see....SUGAR RAY!!!! Yes, Sugar Ray. I was so excited. They were one of my favorite bands in 7th/8th grade. Plus, I had a huge crush on Mark McGrath :)

Then who do you think we saw?? MC HAMMER! I only know two songs from him, but I really enjoyed his show! He had a lot of energy and his back up dancers were wild. All over the stage.

All in all, it turned out to be a successful day.

  1. I'm glad you discovered this. There were a bunch of issues with it last year, so I think that it was actually an improvement. We'll see what next year brings. Now that I'm back in town, I'll try to keep you up on these things!
