Whenever I go to thrift stores, I look through their art sections. I search for cheap, used canvases and paint over them! It's WAY cheaper than buying a brand new, clean & white one. If I do want a white background, then I use a can of white spray paint to quickly cover everything.
I did the top painting for Atlas/Ariel and the bottom one for our house. The bottom one took me a long time. I just couldn't mix the colors I wanted...eventually I just caved in and took the closest I could get. But I like it now :]

ReplyDeleteI am so impressed! What kind of paints did you use?
ReplyDeleteAcrylic. And I always get them from Michael's. If you go to this link you can always get some sort of coupon http://weeklyad.michaels.com/ so they end up being pretty cheap :)
