18 Weeks

The news is out! I'm pregnant and we are having a baby. WOAH. Each time we tell someone, it becomes more real, although we still can't believe it. At my last appointment we got to hear the heartbeat! It was amazing. So we now know for sure that something is in there.

So far pregnancy has been a breeze. I haven't been sick or tired at all, though my mood swings and my emotions have been high at times (poor Trevor). I find myself crying at everything: church talks, marching band routines, the Republican National Convention speeches, etc. I'm constantly asking myself, "Why am I crying?!!?!"

Right now my body is in between stages - the "don't look pregnant" stage and "look pregnant" stage. In other words, I'm chunky from my knees to my collar bone. I'll probably take this back later, but I'm looking forward to having that big belly in the "look pregnant" stage so I don't have to feel so frumpy.

So far the only real downside to being pregnant was giving up my hot yoga classes. I miss them terribly. I've heard a lot of people say it's safe to continue hot yoga while pregnant, but it seems too risky to me. Plus, my balance has gone kaput. I could tell a difference while bowling and I can definitely tell a difference while doing yoga. Simply standing straight on one leg without tipping over is extremely difficult now. So it's probably best that I just do my flailing at home now.

The due date is March 26th!

  2. So excited you are going to try HypnoBirthing!! (I'm making an assumption off of the book you have over there). I've been super interested in it & had a friend that delivered using that method and described it as enjoyable. So interested to get your take on it. XO

  3. This is so awesome!!! I'm so super happy for you guys! The other weekend I was at a running festival and the editor in chief of Runner's World was there. His wife teaches yoga to little kids and she had a bunch of stuff for sale there and there was a little onsie that said "Teeny Yogini" on it and it made me think of you! Congratulations!
