Us Lately

Rosie
-The day after we got back from Virginia, Rosie was super whiny. She refused to fall asleep and would scream whenever we would lay her down. She was a completely different child. I blamed it on jet lag and me having a different diet while on vacation. This went on for a week until I peeked in her mouth and saw a tooth coming in! WHAT?! So I immediately bought her an amber teething necklace and she was INSTANTLY back to her sweet self. I usually don't bring it up because people look at me like I'm crazy, but this necklace is a miracle worker.

-She's SIX MONTHS old! Such a big girl now, but still a tiny, little thing. She still only wears 3 month clothing.

-She rolls and rolls. I had her laying in the middle of the living room floor then left the room for 1 minute and came back to find her pushed up against the fire place! Ooops.

While taking this picture he said, "I feel like I'm riding a broom!"

Trevor: He bought a bike right after we moved in and has been biking to work for the past month. He likes it a lot but we both laugh about the fact that he looks so different from all the other bikers around here. There are a lot of hip road bikers here in Boise, and they all have the cool, tight biker gear with shiny helmets. Then there's Trevor with his baggy basketball gear wearing a kiddie helmet that says "rock on". Though since it's cooled down here, I bought him some tight black pants at the thrift store...though once I brought them home, I realized they're probably just men's thermals. Eh, they'll still work.

Me: I've been busy vacuuming up hair from EVERYWHERE. UG. This whole post-natal hair loss thing is getting old. I had read about losing your hair after the birth, but didn't think it'd be that bad. But it's way worse than I imagined. The only good thing about it is when Trev gets out of the shower and I stick loose strands of hair on his wet body. He freaks out to every strand. It's HILARIOUS! And half of the time I'm just pretending to have hair in my hand. Too funny.

Us: Busy being best friends and laughing at all of Rosie's jokes.

  2. This is the cutest. I was just smiling when I started reading about Rosie being cranky because I knew it was going to be her teething. I gotta get me one of those necklace things for my next baby...years from now I might add. I lost a ton of hair after Finn too but next time I will have try the sticking it to the hubby trick. Hilarious! Rosie is a doll!

    1. Lindsay, I can't wait until I know all of the ins and outs of parenting and babies. I feel like every day I'm learning something new! Rosie teething was the LAST thing I thought would be possible. I thought I had like 6 months...ha!

  3. I had no idea that Rosie's cute little necklace had a purpose besides being cute! I'm not usually a believer of stuff like that, but I will vouch for the fact that she was an absolutely sweet adorable baby while she was with me tonight, even after sitting in her seat at Shopko for an hour. Maybe I need one for myself?

    1. You should get one! I've read of adults using them for headaches and arthritis. Right after we got it, I tried wearing it for awhile, but didn't feel any different :) But Rosie sure seems happy with it on, so it's staying on!

  4. Okay... I'm so curious about this amber teething necklace! What is it??! What kind of magical powers does it have (I'm only half joking)? I'm assuming it does more than just let them chew on the beads. Do tell!!!!
Rosie is the sweetest. Glad you guys are doing well.
